Mission Uganda
Isaiah 6:8-Then I heard the
voice of the Lord saying,"Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?"And I said, "Here I am.
Send me."
Dear family and friends,
In 2013, I will be traveling to Africa for 10
days to serve God and His people. I am requesting your support
for this journey. I am very happy to share with you some of the details of this
upcoming trip.
Agape Uganda Community Center is an organization located in Kampala, the capital of Uganda. The Agape home houses 17 children who were abandoned. The home provides love, a safe place to live and an opportunity to go to school. The mission of the center is to improve the wellbeing of the orphaned and vulnerable and pray for transformed lives that only God and hope in the Gospel can provide. The children are shown the hope of the Gospel and begin to encounter restoration and healing through the power of the Holy Spirit.
The
purpose of the trip will be to reflect Christ to the children and the Uganda
community and be able to share the Gospel. We plan to participate in community outreach
with the center, worship
with the children and take them on special field trips. Also, we would like to bring encouragement to
the Ugandan people that minister to these children full time. I look
forward to new relationships that will be made as we work toward the goal to be
salt and light in Uganda and glorify His Great Name. I expect to return from the trip able to
advocate for the oppressed and those who experience injustice with greater
passion. I expect to encounter the presence
of God and the beauty of the Gospel in
the middle of the desperate circumstances of the children. I hope to have a
greater understanding of the character of God and grow in my faith.
I
am excited about the opportunity and experiences that lie ahead. As you
can imagine, a trip like this requires financial and prayer support from a
number of people. If you
wish to keep up with trip preparation and encounters through the journey, I will be blogging at www.intotheglorious.blogspot.com I hope to be
able to convey the journey so that through partnering, you can also experience the joy that comes through serving a Great God! Thank you for your time, support, and
partnership.
