Going to South Africa: Mission H.O.P.E

Dear family and friends,
This July Karen, the kids and I will be traveling to an orphanage in South Africa for two weeks. We will be joining up with the organization, Mission Hope USA to teach children about Jesus Christ. Mission Hope USA's mission is to "serve the needs of orphans and widows living in or around a rural area of South Africa in the Free-State province called Memel-Zamani." Their orphanage, the Dumisani Youth Care Center, provides for the needs of 12-16 orphans. In addition to the youth living at Dumisani, a feeding program also provides in the basic nutritional needs of around 32 children living in Memel.
While there, we plan to implement the sports camp that we have successfully run here in the United States for the last three years. Our goal will be to teach the children and adults within the town about our Lord and Savior. The Lord tells us in Isaiah 1:17, "Learn to do right; seek justice. Defend the oppressed. Take up the cause of the fatherless; plead the case of the widow." We are very excited to have the opportunity to spread the word of God to people who may never come to know Him otherwise.
We could use your help in one of two ways. First we are in need of monetary donations. But, before you commit to our cause, please prayerfully consider what your role can be in supporting this mission. Airfare is much more expensive than we had imagined. We will need to raise at least another $3000.00 just to be able to fly the four of us there. Any donation received will be a blessing to us. No gift is too small and all will be appreciated.
Our second request is for your prayers. Please pray that we have safe travels and that both Peyton and Harper cooperate on their first plane ride, which just happens to be a 17 hour flight! Pray for the Lord to lead us and give us the ability to spread His message effectively. Please pray that the children and people of Memel welcome us and are receptive to the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
