Hello! My name is Shante Wong. I am 21 years old and I am a Salvation Army soldier and Missionary. Presently, I have the amazing opportunity to be a student at The Salvation Army Glory Shop in New York City. God has blessed me and has brought the right people into my life to affirm me as a missionary for Christ, His kingdom and for The Salvation Army. Over the past four years, I’ve had many opportunities to travel and immerse myself into various cultures, learn their languages, and most importantly spread the gospel of Jesus. I’ve experienced the joy of sharing love, compassion, lending an ear or simply a smile with others. God is changing lives through the power of interacting and connecting with others.
During my one year discipleship and creative arts program at the Glory Shop, I will be immersed in the study of the Bible, worship, prayer, outreach, evangelism as well as acting, dancing, and other creative arts classes. It is amazing how God can take our talents and passion and use them to further His kingdom. This is such a powerful ministry!
1 Chronicles 16:23-24 says, “sing to the Lord, all the earth; proclaim his salvation day after day. Declare his glory among the nations, his marvelous deeds among all peoples.” I would like to do just that. This is my passion and I know this is just the beginning of where God wants to take me. I can’t do this alone. I need your help. First and foremost, I need your prayers. Pray that God will make me audacious and give me the strength I will require this year as I embark on this new chapter of my life with Him. Pray that He will soften people’s hearts to receive all He has to offer the people of New York. In all this, daily deepening my relationship with Him.
Next, I need your financial support. I will be raising a total of $8,000 to cover my time at the Glory Shop. God is a God of miracles and opportunities and I know he uses people in all walks of life as vessels to expand His kingdom. I am boldly stepping out and declaring my need and know that God will provide. I will be more than happy with any donation you can provide. I know God will multiply your giving ten fold.
