Missions Trip Campaign 2018

I would like to start by saying thank you, thank you for visiting this page, and more importantly, thank you for caring enough to read and understand our mission. This fundraiser is designed to facilitate our desire to serve God abroad through missions. Our hope is to be a light in a world full of darkness, and to show those who are disadvantaged what unrelenting love looks like in a tangible way.

   The idea of missions is not a new one, and it is not exclusively a Christian one. It is however an important one, perhaps now more than ever. With more and more countries falling deeper in to poverty, it is important for those that can do something, to act. And as parents, it is also vitally important to be examples to our kids in ways they may not understand yet. For these reasons, Amanda and I have thoughtfully and prayerfully decided to pursue this mission’s trip as an act of service to God, and to others.

   Of course, with almost any modern endeavor, the ability to finance is often a stumbling block. Our goal with this fundraiser is to allow anyone who has a desire to, the ability to sew in to our lives in a way that would be impactful to not only us, but to the people we would be serving. The donation goal encompasses the total cost of our trip to Peru, not including any extra expenses incurred. Our prayer is to be able to fully fund this trip through sponsors, and extra money earned by me. This trip is scheduled for the fall, where Amanda and I will travel to Peru with a group of around 25. We will be teaming up with a local organization that has been partnered with our church for several years. Together with them, we will help with maintenance related issues associated with structures that were built to provide a refuge for local children living in poverty. This facility provides basic needs that these kids would not receive otherwise, needs such as healthy meals, education, and medical screenings. We will also be spending the evenings at a local orphanage.

   Whether you align with Christian theology or not, I think everyone can agree that this world is greatly devoid of love and compassion. With your help, Amanda and I will be a part of the change that is so desperately needed, in our local community and others. Below is a breakdown of the timetables laid out by our church for when certain amounts of funds will be due. The amounts listed are the combined amounts for Amanda and me, not per person.
