Miss Valerie Medical return to Canada

Miss Valerie Nelson is the heart and soul of Charmont Bilingual Academy and Families Saludables on the Honduran Island of Roatan. She has worked tirelessly to support families with HIV, to educate the most needy children, to feed those who were hungry, and to eliminate mother to infant transmission of HIV. Valerie has sacrificed her time, money, and every last bit of energy to help the beautiful of people of Roatan. She has been a mother, friend, healer to so many.

But now Valerie needs OUR help. Valerie is very, very ill with a severe infection related to her diabetes. The doctors have tried treating her with antibiotics, but nothing has worked and it is only getting worse. The care she has received on Roatan, is not sufficient and Valerie and her daughter Jane feel the only option is to get hospital treatment back in her home country of Canada.

Valerie is flying back to Canada on Friday, June 25. There will be many costs associated with this trip, including hotels, transportation, food, medical expenses, and much more. Please, we're asking that people step forward to help the helper. The woman who has dedicated her entire life to saving children needs saving herself.
