Miranda's Fundraiser for The Hub!

Hi friends! I am currently living on the Greek island of Leros, where I am volunteering with Echo100Plus, an NGO dedicated to supporting the 800 refugees stranded here.  We run a school, The Hub, with the aim to give our students a renewed sense of agency, purpose, and hope as they wait, sometimes up to two years, for a decision about whether or not they may start over in Europe or must return to a home that no longer exists.  

My experience with Echo has made it especially clear that the refugee crisis is ongoing and far from reaching a solution.  Sadly, this seems to be a fact that many people have forgotten, and we are still in need of support.
 
At The Hub, I am helping to teach the music, art, and coding classes.  We also provide many other courses, including English, German, French, Italian, sports, performance, and theater classes.  Another part of our work includes distributing necessary items like clothes, shoes, and hygiene articles; driving students from the refugee camp to class so they don’t have to walk 45 minutes on the dangerous highway; cleaning up local beaches; and promoting environmentally friendly practices around the island. 

I truly believe in and am enjoying the work we do here and therefore have started a crowdfunding campaign to make sure that Echo100Plus is able to continue their work for as long as needed.  I would very much appreciate if you would consider donating or if you would pass along my message to those whom you believe would be interested in this cause.

$50 takes 113 students daily off of the road and provides safe transportation to class

$200 allows us to distribute up to 528 pairs of shoes and 816 pairs of socks
