Markeita is a 38 year old mother with four children she is raising alone. She also has a grown Daughter who is very supportive. Her Mother, Renee Taylor, has been by her side every step of the way while remaining in deep prayer for her youngest Daughter. Her Sisters have also supported their youngest Sister in every way they could.
Markeita has been diagnosed with severe heart disease and her heart is only functioning at 15%. She has been placed on the heart transplant list and we are asking that you will join us in praying for a donor. She has a rare blood type (A negative) and it could take up to 3 years before she could receive a heart transplant.
She recently underwent heart surgery and had a LVAD (left ventricular assist device) implanted to assist in making her heart pump. After surgery, it was determined that the right side of her heart was not responding. Her heart was not depending on the mechanical heart pump and was pumping too fast. She underwent another surgery to implant a defibrillator with the goal of regulating her heart rhythm. She will remain hospitalized for several more weeks while she heals and undergoes physical therapy.
Due to her illness she is no longer able to work and provide for her children. She is also facing many medical expenses and needs our prayers, support and donations to assist her and her family during this most difficult time. Donations of any amount are appreciated.
