Experience the Miracle of Luke Vogt

July 25, 2011 was a rare day because I had both my sons, Matt and Luke and my grand daughter Hailey all to myself for the whole day! When I hugged Luke good bye that day I had no idea how long it would be before I saw his beautiful green eyes, hear his voice or feel the embrace of one of his warm hugs! Wanting to save money on gas, Luke invested in a motorcycle. While driving home on his ninja on the 91 freeway Luke was knocked off his motorcycle by one car, struck down by 2 more cars and then dragged. The doctors did not expect him to live or to ever come out of the coma. I could not believe my son could be hurt this bad. But Luke being the strong man he is began to breathe on his own after 2 weeks and opened his eyes after 3 weeks, and today is able to communicate through the use of an iPad app! This week Luke called me mom several times and reached out to me for one of those warm hugs! My heart filled with joy and my eyes with tears. Luke’s athletic ability and will of steel which made him an excellent football, basketball and soccer player before his accident may have saved his life and given him the strength to heal and recover. Now after months of rest and physical therapy Luke is sitting up and balancing on his own for over 30 minutes He continues to prove the doctor’s were wrong when they gave us their prognosis. With your help we can get Luke walking again with his 4 year old daughter, Harlowe! His love for Harlowe drives and motivates him to achieve the impossible. Luke’s family and friends love, support and encourage him and we have all gained far more than what we have given by experiencing the miracle of Luke. Luke has the opportunity to participate in physical and occupational therapy as well as equine and hydro therapy and needs funds to pay for these therapies. At home with the aid of a LiteGait walking machine Luke’s therapists as well as all his loved ones expect Luke will soon be able to stand up and walk again. God has a plan for Luke and I invite you to experience a miracle in the making!
