Miorri's fundraising - 25th World Scout Jamboree

My name is Miorri, a scout from the 1st Grendon and Edgcott scouts group.

The fundraising aim is to cover part of my World Scout Jamboree fees. I am fortunate enough to be one of the young people selected to represent Buckingham, Winslow & District Scouts, as part of Unit 57 (combined Warwickshire and Buckinghamshire), to attend the Jamboree.

The World Scout Jamboree is a World Organisation of the Scout Movement (WOSM) event which happens every four years, each time hosted by a different country. In the summer of 2023, more than 40,000 Scouts from all over the world will gather in South Korea for the 25th World Scout Jamboree.

The total Jamboree fee is £3,670. My district and local scout groups will sponsor 40% of this total. Therefore, I need to raise the remaining 60%, which equals £2,200, to attend this once-in-a-lifetime event. Several fund-raising activities were carried out. In October, a group of 5 (including me) did a sponsored walk across several villages from Grendon Underwood to Buckingham, totaling approximately 30km. Further fund-raising activities have also been planned this year.

I would be grateful to receive your donation to fund my Jamboree Fee. If I raise more than needed, the extra fund will go to the local scout group for the next Jamboree. Thank you.
