Minisink Lanes

Don protégé
On Saturday January 20th around 3pm, Minisink Lanes tragically burned to ashes. Owner, Ray Willis Sr, had to watch his business burn to nothing. Ray Willis served for this great country in the Vietnam War during his youth. His business,Minisink Lanes, held leagues for women, men, mixed league, and youth. The lanes held great memories for many families and generations. Ray Willis spent countless hours fixing the old time lanes 7 days a week. Ray even went a far as shoveling the roof during every snow storm since it had a flat roof. While Ray did most of the maintenance, wife Jamie Willis ran the leagues for the most part with help of her close friends. Jamie Willis passed away on September 8th, 2015. After the passing of Jamie, many close friends stepped up to the plate and helped Ray keep the bowling alley going! Ray held numerous tournaments for people in need throughout the bowling community. During those tournaments he donated all of the money to the cause which made nothing toward his business. Unfortunately, the building was uninsured as of last year due to the $10,000 a year payment which was outweighing the business the lanes were bringing in. He had to cancel that policy since the state would not reduce the policy. Ray needs our help for costs of demolition and his business. Any contribution to help Ray will be greatly appreciated.
