Remembering the life of Frank Arrowsmith, past Mayor of Edlington.
Edlington Town Council and the immediate family of Frank Arrowsmith are working together to create a lasting memorial to Frank and due to the amazing support we have been offered, would like to extend this opportunity for colleagues, family, friends and members of the community to help support this iniative.

The funds raised will help to create a new mining sculpture in the Miners Memorial Gardens in Edlington and the planting of a Major Oak at the Edlington Community Woodland project, both projects that he was the founder member of and which he was so passionate to provide for the enjoyment of the community.
Any surplus funds will be used to provide forest school lessons for local children at the forest school amphitheatre in the Communtiy Woodland Project as class scholarships.

Frank will be remembered for his passion for the communities of Edlington and Old Edlington and his commitment to the Mining Heritage of the Yorkshire Main Colliery.
Frank was also a nationally recognised expert in mining heritage and the Trades Union Movement and attended rallies, mining galas and national events to represent Yorkshire Main and the community of Edlington.

Frank was a vocal ambassador for the villages and we pay tribute to his lifelong service to the community he loved and the impact of his work as a Town Councillor and past Town Mayor.
Frank's lasting legacy to the community was the Yorkshire Main Heritage Trust Miners Memorial Garden and the Annual Miners Memorial Service as well as the Miners Memory Wall and Statue in the Yorkshire Main Community Centre.

More recently Frank will be remembered for his efforts to start the Edlington Community Woodland Project and his aspiration for the area continues, to the original plans he brought forward to provide open spaces for the community to enjoy and be proud of.
