Mindy Carreiro Leukemia fund

January 5, Mindy started not feeling well.  She was busy with work and the launch of new products and set aside her headache and nausea.  Within 3 days, she had developed severe abdominal pain and vomitting.  She presented to emergency room early Monday January 8th and within a few short hours, was diagnosed with Leukemia.  Immediate plans were set in place and she was sent to Seattle, WA and the University of Washington Medical Center.  The diagnosis given today is AML.  There are a few different strains and we are still waiting to get confirmation of what kind.   Mindy and her mom, Shelley are in Seattle.  While her husband Justin and their kids are still here in Anchorage.  Our goal right now is to raise funds to be able to purchase airfare for Justin and the kids to go to Seattle, and of course lodging and food.  Funds will also be used to supplement the  incomethat may be lost while Mindy is not able to work.   The staff at UW has stated Mindy will be in Seattle for at least a month, possibly longer depending on how she responds to the treatment.   Any amount you can donate will be so appreciated!  We want to keep this family as close and connected as possible.  At 8, 13 and 17, not havng mom at home is so hard to comprehend.  Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.  If anyone has questions, you are welcome to contact me.  My cell is [teléfono editado] and text works best due to time zone differences.
