86 year old Mountain Warrior

Minbahadur Sherchan, a daring professional mountaineer par excellence from a tiny remote village of Bhurung Tatopani VDC, West Nepal, he is a legend on its own class. A retired Gurkha soldier from the Queens Gurkha Signal (QGS), the Brigade of Gurkhas who currently lives in the UK before departing to Nepal on expedition preparation. Since his dream of travelling the world in the early age was not fruitful, he did travel four corners of Nepal on feet from East to West and North to South covering more than 1200 km. The initial successful taste of Dhaulagiri summit in his sleeves, he climbed Naya Khanga peak in preparation of the Everest, at the age of 76, he conquered the Everest with pride and joy on 25 May 2008. It was indeed the Guinness World of Records for the oldest aged person ever to climb 8848m (Everest) successfully.
To his challenge, a Japanese citizen Yuichiro Miura, aged 80, broke the record set by Sherchan in May 2013. Having zero concerns to his own life, he has set another enormous but achievable challenge to summit the peak once again at the age of 84 in May 15. He is determined on the principle of DO or DIE for the accomplishment of this bravest feat. He takes real pride in being a Nepali and the Gurkha. Mount Everest at 29,035 feet is perhaps the most coveted mountain in the world. The south (Nepalese) side is the route first climbed by Tenzing and Hillary in 1953, and the dates Mr Sherchan has chosen feature the best weather of the year.
