My Mission Trip To Mumbai, India
To my family and friends ,
I pray that this letter finds you and your family doing well. I have great and exciting news! God has given me an amazing opportunity to travel to Mumbai, INDIA for a mission trip! I was chosen by Cross Timbers Church to travel with 5 other students, our youth Pastor, and his wife. I want to share with you this challenging ministry opportunity that God has presented to me. From July 21, 2013 - July 31, 2013 I will be focusing on un-reached people groups and people that have never heard the good news of Jesus Christ. I will be visiting the slums and poorer areas of Mumbai, India to spread gospel and the word of God. As a group we hope to reach out to the people living in India and show them that there still is hope and to have faith in Gods greater plan. I am 18 years old and a senior in high school. I have just recently completed my Cosmetology course at the Advanced Technology Complex and will be a licensed cosmetologist upon graduation,in June 2013. In the Fall I will be attending my first semester of college and hope to one day achieve a doctoral degree in Psychology.
I believe this opportunity will be a huge blessing to the people of India, as well as myself, because I know I will grow tremendously in the process. This is my opportunity to serve the Lord and begin to pursue what I feel God has created me to do. This trip will be a life changing experience for the people living in India, along with myself. God will open eyes to things that would have never been seen before. Not only will I work to help the people of Mumbai open their hearts and souls to the Lord, but also work to better my relationship with the lord and change my ways to serve him more.
The total cost of the trip is $3,000.00 and I have to raise $1,500 by March 31, 2013 for the down payment. I am trying very hard to work many hours to raise the money for my trip but also trying to maintain my grades in school and cosmetology. On top of the trip costs I will need to pay passport, visa, and a few other misc. expenses. I have a lot on my plate saving for this trip as well as college in the fall. My parents are very hard working and do all that they can to provide and support me, but as we all know money can sometimes be a little tight. Even though i know this is going to be tough to get to, I am more than excited to join the lord on this journey he has set forth for me!
