Our story

 

Hello my name Levi Sharrod-Scott, myself and my partner Shannon Wood, have decided that we would like to plan a fundraising event for a charity close to our hearts named 4Louis.

 

Our baby girl Mia was born on June 26th, 2021 and died on September 2nd 2021.

 

Mimi, She is our miracle baby. Mia was conceived after our first round of IVF treatment following 3 years of trying naturally. We had one chance, one egg, and against all the odds our precious little darling began her life. Mia was born healthy and incredibly happy, the two months Mia graced this earth, was by far the best two months we could ever ask for and more. We are incredibly blessed to have shared so many precious moments with our little darling, Mia was a light in the dark, a smile on a rainy day, she was heaven on earth. Our girl was everything we could of ever of wanted in life. She is our baby, and we will always be a family. Unfortunately at two months of age, Mia took her last breath and stayed sleeping. We lost our daughter to an awful illness named Sudden infant death syndrome. Just like that, our whole lives came crashing down on us, our baby girl wasn’t here anymore. She wasn’t here, and it was so incredibly hard to make any sense of that. Even now, not really having an answer, just doesn’t allow us to ever try and make sense of what happened. The day Mimi passed, we were handed over a box, by a company named 4Louis. Inside, the box contained some of the most precious keepsakes we could imagine. We were able to have mias hand and footprints done for her. Mummy was also given a beautiful little bear and so was Mimi, both bears identical. One sleeps with Mimi, and the other with mummy every single night, keeping their connections so beautifully in-sync. We lost our girl that day, but we know she’s here, in other ways, we can feel her, and nothing will ever change that.

This precious memory box means so much to us, and we would love to be able to fund 100 more boxes for bereaved parents all over the country to have this opportunity of a memory to cherish. One box is just £15, to be able to know that 100 other parents who shouldn’t ever have to be in this position at least are given the chance to cherish anymore memories, would mean something to us. I want to make it our mission to raise £1500. In order to do this, alongside myself, my two brothers, Jack Sharrod-Scott and Keilan Sharrod-Scott are going to help me. In May this year, We are heading 15,000 ft “3 miles” above the ground to jump from the skies and dive back down to earth. I know times are incredibly tough for everyone now financially, but if you have a spare pound here or there, we would truly appreciate any help you can give to this beautiful cause.

 

Sadly, miscarriage or the death of a baby or child is not a rare occurrence. Every day in the UK around 15 babies sadly die before, during or soon after birth. 1 in 4 pregnancies sadly end before they reach 12 weeks of pregnancy and without 4Louis those bereaved parents wouldn’t be able to have the memories, closure and support they deserve.

 

 

Charity information-

 

4louis provide useful tools, equipment and training free of charge to hospital units, hospices and other professionals who sadly have the job of comforting grieving families who suffer a miscarriage, Stillbirth Neonatal or child death.

 

4Louis memory boxes are tailored to suit the needs of various units and contain many items to help inspire bereaved families to capture mementos of their baby or child.
