Mikkah's ORCAM Device

Donation protected
We adopted Mikkah when she was 3 months old and in the system from abusive biological parents.
Mikkah started loosing her eye sight when she was 18 months old. It took years to find the problem. She underwent testing all across the state. She has been diagnosed with Retinitus Pigmentosis, rod/cone dystrophy and various other eye issues. The current diagnosis is Bradyopsia which limits her field of vision, light preception and color recognition. She began to get visual aids from school in 5th grade. By the time she reached 7th grade she was on a 3rd grade level in all subjects because she could not see. She transfered to Texas School for the Blind and Visually Impaired in 7th grade. By the time she was in 10th grade she had lost all vision in her left eye. Recently the right eye has gone. She was having some light preception in that eye but that too is now absent.
We have found a device called an ORCAM. It attaches to the side of her glasses and includes the ability to read to her what she is looking at, product recognition (including bar code data), currency recognition and face recognition. This is highly developed Artificial Intelligence.
Mikkah is about to graduate from high school and we feel this device will help her immensely when she starts college. Her plan is to stay in Austin and attend ACC to start. Her ultimate goal is to be a Veterinary Technician.
We would love for her to have this device. The cost is out of reach to us as we are retired on Social Security.
Your help is greatly appreciated.
