Medical Transportation for Miki

Donation protected
In 2015 our mother was diagnosed with stage 4 kidney failure. She had experienced a TIA in early 2014, and physicians struggled to control her blood pressure. Her blood pressure became a serious issue that her primary care physician did not seem to have an answer for. Wanting a second opinion she changed her primary care doctor, thankfully he knew to send her to a specialist. The doctor sent her to a nephrologist, where she recieved the stage 4 kidney failure diagnosis.Since her diagnosis in 2015 our mother is now in end stage renal failure, no kidney function. She relies on dialysis, several different blood pressure medications, and blood building medication everyday to stay with us. Since July 2016 my eldest sibling was in the process of donating her kidney to our mother, sadly she was unable to because our mom has too many antibodies against her blood. In the time since then I have started the process of trying to donate my kidney. I have a couple of health concerns that I need to address with the transplant team to know if I can donate. However because God is so good we have other potential donors. A few potential donors live out of state, and others live in state. Our mother's insurance will pay for the medical exam to ensure the donor is healthy enough to donate, and the actual surgery. On the downside her insurance will not pay travel, food, lodging and lost wages from time off work. We must start fundraising NOW so that those costs will not stand in the way of the outstanding individuals wiling to give a part of themselves to ensure many more years of life to our loving mother. Time is a factor in a kidney patient being able to receive a kidney. My mother's health will continue to decline. She is receiving dialysis treatments now, unfortunately she has been hospitalized many times due to the dialysis not working correctly for her body. The money that is received through this fundraiser will be used to pay travel, food, and lodging. I know that there are so many in need today, but the littlest donation would help a potential donor, give a gift of life. For more information on how to become a living donor, and kidney disease visit Kidney.org . Kidney disease is diagnosable in early stages. Early detection can prevent rapid progression to end stage renal failure. If you or somebody you love is unable to regulate your blood pressure, or is frequently nauseous be sure to talk to your doctor about simple blood tests to have your GFR and creatinine levels checked. Our family wants to thank you for any and all help we receive. God Bless you.
