Mikey's Journey

What began as a guy’s day out riding ATVs in the spring of 2010 ended, as can happen, with a broken ankle. Though that accident took Mikey out of work for six months it was only the beginning of his journey. Soon a simple broken bone escalated to much more and what seemed an innocuous accident changed Mikey’s life forever, it may also have quite possibly saved his life because that ankle led to the diagnosis of Leiomyosarcoma cancer (LMS) in 2012
     The past six years have been a long journey for Mikey and his loving wife Annette, filled with multiple hospital stays, surgeries, treatments and set-backs, but Mikey doesn’t stop fighting. He continues to work, probably too much, but he refuses to give up his battle.
     Although Mikey has insurance his medical bills are piling up. LMS is a rare sarcoma cancer and expensive to treat, only 1 in 100,000 people are diagnosed each year.
     Knowing Mikey and Annette, we have firsthand knowledge of his dedication to work, the devotion he has for his wife and the never ending kindness he spreads to his family, friends, co-workers and clients. Those of us close to Mikey are amazed at his ability to remain positive during his six year fight with LMS.
     Now we hope to raise funds to help reduce Mikey’s financial burdens which have accumulated over the last six years.
