With the heaviest of hearts we are coming together as a community (friends, good acquantances, and the family at Freemans Restaurant) to raise funds for the family of our dearest departed Michael (Mikey) Joshua Martinez. Mikey gave to us a lifetime of the weirdest, most beautiful, creatively genius and funny memories. He gave us true understanding, empathy and friendship. Thank you, Mikey.
There is a NYC Freemans Family memorial in the works (at Freemans) and we will have dates very soon. Please see the attached flyer for a Brooklyn based event this Monday (Jan 22, 9pm) at Lady Jay's 633 Grand St., where funds will also be raised, records will be played, and dance moves will be made.
For those of us in NY or not, please donate here what is comfortable for you in honor of Mikey for whatever help his family may need in this time.
