Mike Westby's (Bub) final expenses

On Friday August 18, 2017 Mike Westby (Bubba) age 33 was hit by a car while on a bicycle while visiting his brother in Chicago.  He suffered a severe traumatic brain injury and well as many other injuries.  He underwent surgery to relieve the pressure on his brain.  The doctors while hopeful, were anticipating a very long recovery followed by rehabilitation.  On Friday August 25th Bub took a turn for the worse and started having strokes and seizures along with more swelling on the brain.  While surrounded by family Bub gained his wings and left us at 8:35 p.m. on Tuesday August 29, 2017.

Bub was in his final year of college and was to graduate in 2018 as an Electrical Engineer.  He was currently doing his internship with Trane Heating and Air Conditioning Services and Systems.

While returning home from Chicago after his passing we opened his mail.  None to our surprise yet so incredibly proud we opened a letter dated August 15, 2017 from Grand Valley State University stating that Bub had made the Dean’s list.  He would have been so proud.

Bub was a son, a brother, The World’s Greatest Uncle,
a nephew, a cousin, a friend and a Daddy to his dog Winston.

Life will never be the way we knew it.  We hope and pray that time will heal our pain.  Upon his request on the back of his license he was an organ donor.  We know he will live on by doing what he did best, helping others.

Nothing can prepare you for what lies ahead.  Live life to the fullest.  Forgive and Forget.  Tell your loved ones you love them because you never know what tomorrow brings.
