Mike's Liver Transplant

Donation protected

In July of 2020 Michael Ellis was diagnosed with Liver Cirrhosis. He needed to be put on the transplant list immediately. However, the
doctor he had did not refer him to the Liver Transplant Clinic yet.  He has been in and out of the hospital 4 times and then he was finally transferred to the Liver specialists in OKC. We were told that not only does my mom and dad (Michael and his wife Kelli) have to uproot their entire lives and move to OKC because he has to be within  35 minutes of  the transplant hospital for at least 3 months after his transplant, They have to board their dogs for a period of time during his recovery due to no fur being allowed near the incision sight. They are hoping to sell their home and buy an RV.  They already have over $16,000.00 in medical bills thus far, and this is just the beginning. They need $8500 to get on the transplant list show that they can afford the costly expense of the anti-rejection meds, which Mike will be required to take for the rest of his life.

$8500 is a lot for any average family to come up with, not even mentioning it has to be within 60 days. Currently, due to Covid and my dad's medical condition they are relying off of my mom's singular income for their expenses. This makes that quest of $8500 that much more difficult. My dad needs this new liver to live a long, healthy life. We love him very much and want him to continue to be in our lives, just as any family would. He wants to be there for me on my wedding day this next February, he wants to see my nephew play his first football game, and see my niece start school.

This GoFundMe is to help him get on the list and cover all the medical expenses from last year and this year and if there is more it will go to cover next years expenses. We trust and believe in God and know that He will provide our every need and we pray that everyone that
donates to us is blessed and the Lord gives back to them pressed down and runneth over. Even those that just share to their friends, Bless you.

The thing is, this is also just the beginning, Dad will have to be on anti-rejection meds, like I mentioned previously, for the rest of his life. Hopefully, This is the avenue we can use to help my parents not have to worry about some of the upcoming medical bills. This shouldn't be a concern when it is a life-or-death situation, they should be able to only focus on my dad's health and recovery going forward. Thank you so much!!!
