Mike Storey's Medical Fund

As many of you know on Monday afternoon, May 1st, Mike had a seizure while at work and was rushed to Spectrum-Butterworth via ambulance. During testing in the emergency room, the doctors found a tumor about the size of a quarter on the left side of his brain. The tumor was located on the surface and was successfully removed during surgery on Thursday, May 4th. 

On May 15th, Mike was officially diagnosed with a Grade 4 Glioblastoma brain tumor, an aggressive and currently non curable tumor. Mike had no symptoms prior to the seizure. Obviously, the news comes as a great shock but the doctors have a treatment plan and we are moving forward. Mike and his doctors are hopeful he will be able to return to work in the near future.

Mike will start chemotherapy and radiation treatments on June 6th at the Lemmen-Holton Cancer Center. Due to the nature of the tumor, his doctors have also recommended exploring additional treatment options which may not be covered by his medical insurance. 

So many of you have reached out asking how you can support Mike and his family. They have been enjoying all the wonderful meals that have been delivered and greatly appreciate all the cards, flowers, help around the house and notes of support. By creating this gofundme page, we hope to alleviate some of the financial burdens related to Mike's cancer treatments.
