Mike Hayes Stroke Recovery Fund

Our friend and colleague Mike Hayes suffered a stroke on Tuesday, April 2nd. He had gone into work that day to Rags & Riches but seemed disoriented, so his coworkers called for emergency services.  An ambulance took him to the ER where treatment for a stroke began. Mike has weakness and has trouble speaking coherently. He is remembering lyrics to songs, however! This stroke comes on top of the heart attack he suffered last fall.  We hope he will be able to make a substantial recovery, but he will need a lot of therapy.  

Since his heart attack, his medical and living expenses have been piling up, far outstripping his resources.  All in all they are expected to top $100,000.  Mike is currently in a rehab facility receiving therapy and cannot transfer home or to another place without expensive 24 hour care. 

 Over the years, Mike (as himself and as Marguerite Lemay of The  House of LeMay) brought a lot of fun into people's lives, often raising money for charity in the process. He has dedicated his life to his community of friends and the causes and organizations he believes deeply in. If you were one of them, please consider donating to help with Mike's recovery.  

Money raised will be used for medical bills, living expenses, ambulance bills, and any costs associated with his rehab and or nursing home care. Funds will be managed by Mike's sister Nancy and deposited into a bank account with the Members Advantage Community Credit Union.
