Mike Dorish Stroke Fund

Sunday June 11, 2017  Mike and Christine were getting ready for Gracie's softball game and mike was complaining of a headache.
He started to act different and knowing signs of stroke, I immediately called 911.
He was taken to Washington hospital and assessed. He had a major brain bleed and th...ey told us it was life changing.
He was then life flighted to AGH downtown, which is where I am writing this now.
Yesterday he couldn't move any part of the right side of his body, nor could he speak coherently.
Coming back this am, he can now lift his right arm and leg, and I can understand him a bit better.
He still is not out of the woods.
The resident dr I spoke with this am said he has major hemorrhage and they are doing cts constantly to keep track of the fluid build up in his frontal lobes. They are monitoring him for hydrocephalus right now. Should it get worse they will have to place a drain through his head.
He is currently in the neuro icu.

Friday as Christine was pulling into parking garage , the doctor called. She told me mike had a bad night and that they needed to perform an emergency procedure. She ran up to the icu and had to sign papers for them to place a drain in his head to relieve undetected hydrocephalus. They also have completely sedated him and have placed a breathing tube. They are hoping that all of this will go hand in hand to help heal the blood pressure, the breathing, etc.
