Mike & Barb.. Flood Relief Fund

Please help Mike & Barb Holmes, Josh and Grace.  They lost absolutely everything in Hurricane Harvey!! The flood waters woke them up out of bed at 11:00 PM so they crawled up into the attic.  by 2:00 AM the water rose to way above the kitchen cabinets.  Mike took off his white t-shirt to make a flag and wiggled it through a vent until the firefighters finally rescued them at noon the next day.  Sadly and heartbreaking.... all of the pets had to stay in the attic.  EMS would not allow the pets into the rescue boat.  Miraculously, the next day, Mike walked, until he had to wade, and then swim, until he was helped by a boat....back to his home.  He made it through the then shoulder height water in his home.  He climbed back up the attic stairs to be greeted by many kisses from the 2 dogs and 3 cats.  They were still alive!!! The tears would not stop!  Josh's cat was finally rescued 24 hours later via another miraculous story.    

Mike & Barb and family have lost everything.  Every single possesion, all 3 vehicles and even a little hope.  As you can imagine they are still in shock and sufferring a tremendous amount of grief and emotional loss.  They literally do not even have a toothbrush or change of clothes.  God is blessing them with amazing love and support from fellow neighbors and local co-workers but now they seriously need some financial help to somehow rebuild and start over.  (Also....if anyone has ANY pictures at all of Grace and Josh as babies, PLEASE save them for Mike & Barb).    They have lost everything......BUT....they are alive and now safe  (Thank you Charles for allowing them to sleep at your house!!!)

Let's please help The Michael Holmes family to get back on their feet.  It will be months if not years before any insurance will kick in so they can rebuild the home they just moved in to on Aug 19, 2017.   They need help to rent an apartment and they especially need help to get a car so both Mike and Barb can get back to work.

We cannot thank you enough for your love and support to this very special family.  

Our prayers and support go out to all victims of this National Disaster.  Please help them all.  If you would like to help in a "personal" way......here is a family where you KNOW your donations will go to.

We really hate to ask. However if you really want a way to help. Until we can get to a location of our own, this is the way to help. Thank you to Sandie Klassen (sister) and LeaAnn Grinzafi Gran (Mchenry friend) for setting up this page. We truly want to be able to pay forward any assistance provided.

As many of you know we had just relocated to League City, Texas from Mchenry, Illinois almost a week to the day and everything lost within hours of the waters rising. Last look the house (or at least all the contents, internal structure) and 3 cars look to be a total loss.

While we rebuild, the neighbors, one to which lost 2 houses a block apart; we also plan to donate/distribute 10% or more based on our minimum needs covered to those who helped us in saving our pets.
