Mikayla's Final Expenses
Donation protected
Every parent's worst fear became my reality. On Friday Sept 22nd 2017 around 3:00pm, my daughter Mikayla Werner was driving on HWY 14 in Janesville WI. For reasons we may never know, her vehicle veered across the road and into a tree, killing her instantly. No parent is ever expecting to have to forever say goodbye to their 20 year old child. There is no realistic preparation emotionally or financially for tragedies such as this.
Mikayla was such a caring and giving young woman. She was happy to help others and would do whatever she could for friends, family and even strangers. Breast cancer awareness and her 3 years as a bridal consultant were her passions. She loved helping brides find their perfect gown for their perfect day! Her dream was to own her own bridal salon.
The funeral and cemetary plot exceeded $12,000. We still would need to purchase a headstone as well, but not until spring/summer 2018 once the grave has time to settle. I am setting my goal at $12,000 to cover just the funeral expenses. If we are able to exceed that, we would like to donate to breast cancer research in Mikayla's name or possibly help a struggling bride with purchasing her dress.
For those not comfortable sending personal information online, there is the option of sending a donation to me via Blackhawk Community Credit Union who has set up an account for these final expenses. Per the credit union's request, donations should be made out to me (Robin Malterer) and to please reference "Mikayla's Final Expenses" so they know to deposit in the created account.
