Mika's Hurricane Harvey Fund

My name is Celeste Wieting and I am originally from Bellaire, Texas.   As we all now know, Hurricane Harvey hit the Texas coast and destroyed many people's homes.  My grandmother (who we call Mika) was one of those people, unaware of how bad the storm was going to strike.  She lives in Meyerland, Texas next to Braes Bayou, and this area was one of the neighborhoods in Houston hit the hardest.  She was home alone when the storm hit, and woke up in the middle of the night to her house filling in with water.  Her neighbor luckily turned her power off for her, but she ended up getting feet of water in her house.  She had to be rescued two days later by boat.  Basically everything she owns was destroyed, including appliances, furniture, clothes, car, kitchen and bathroom items, etc.  If you can find it in your heart to donate whatever you are able, your help is very much appreicated.  The funds will be used to help her rebuild her life, and hopefully save her from not having to sell her home.  As a elderly woman living alone on social security without flood insurance, I know she will be very grateful for any help we are able to give her!!
