Dear friends and family,
We need your help.
As some of you may know, on June 25th my dear brother, Miguel Angel Lobo, was involved in a terrible motorcycle accident in the city of Trinidad, Bolivia. His injuries were severe and life threatening. We almost lost him at least three times. First, on the day of the accident due to hermorraging from his right leg caused by the compound fractures of his tibia and fibula. Later on he developed a persistent infection at the site of the fractures, which almost killed him! And then there was the time in which his blood pressure dropped to dangerous levels during one of the many surgical procedures done to save both his life and his leg,
Miguel has already traveled a long and treacherous road, but a major milestone was reached when he was released from the hospital on October 10th. He still has a long road ahead to a full recovery. In order to achieve this, my brother will need extensive physical therapy to help him regain use of both his legs. Although the left leg was not injured in the accident, it has been used to graft tissue for the other, thus rendering it unmobile during the duration of the long healing process. Because of all this, Miguel who has always been an independent, hardworking, and active individual finds himself now in a wheel chair.
This is where we need your help. The cost of the much needed physical therapy has been estimated at around U$10,000. This is an already hefty bill in addition to all the hospital, and doctor’s fees it took to save his life and his leg.
As a family unit we are doing all we can to help him, his wife, and their three children, but this is a much bigger task than we can achieve on our own. This is why we are reaching out to you, our friends, our family, and our Facebook community, asking for help, because sometimes it takes an entire village to carry one of their own through unexpected, and difficult times. Miguel has been blessed with an amazing support system, and he has not had to face this challenge alone; a true testament to his character, and as a result of the seeds he has planted throughout his life.
Please help my brother get back on his feet, literally.
Each and every gift will be appreciated. Each one of us have different circumstances, but if each one of us helps a little great things can happen!

Necesitamos su ayuda .
Como algunos de ustedes saben , el 25 de junio mi querido hermano, Miguel Ángel Lobo , estuvo involucrado en un terrible accidente de motocicleta en la ciudad de Trinidad , Bolivia . Sus lesiones fueron graves y potencialmente mortales. Casi lo perdimos al menos tres veces . La primera vez en el mismo día del accidente debido a una hermorragia de su pierna derecha causada por las fracturas expuestas de la tibia y el peroné . Más tarde , desarrolló una infección persistente en el sitio de las fracturas, que casi lo mató! Luego, durante uno de los muchos procedimientos quirúrgicos que se realizan para salvar su vida y su pierna, su presión arterial se redujo a niveles peligrosísimos.
Miguel ya ha recorrido un camino largo e impredecible, pero alcanzó un hito importante cuando fue dado de alta del hospital el 10 de octubre. Él todavía tiene un largo camino por recorrer para alcanzar una recuperación completa . Para lograrlo, mi hermano va a necesitar extenso tratamientos de fisioterapia para ayudar a recuperar el uso de las dos piernas. Aunque su pierna izquierda no se lesionó en el accidente , se la ha utilizado para injerto de tejido para la otra , por lo tanto, haciéndola inmóvil durante la duración del largo proceso de curación. Debido a todo esto , Miguel , que siempre ha sido una persona independiente , trabajadora y activa ahora se encuentra postrado en una silla de ruedas .
Aquí es donde necesitamos de su ayuda . El costo de la fisioterapia ha sido estimado alrededor de U$ 10.000. Se trata de una cuenta ya considerable además del costo de hospital , y los honorarios médicos que se han acumulado para salvarle su vida y su pierna.
Como una unidad familiar, estamos haciendo todo lo posible para ayudarlo a él, su esposa , y sus tres hijos, pero esta es una tarea mucho más grande de lo que podemos lograr por nosotros mismos. Es por esto que estamos acudiendo a ustedes, nuestros amigos , nuestra familia y nuestra comunidad de Facebook , pidiendo ayuda , porque a veces se necesita un pueblo entero para llevar a uno de los suyos por eventos inesperado , y momentos difíciles . Miguel ha sido bendecido con un sistema de apoyo increíble , y él no ha tenido que hacer frente a este reto por sí solo, lo cual es un gran testimonio de su carácter, y como resultado de las semillas que ha sembrado a lo largo de su vida.
Desde ya les agradecemos por su ayuda. Cada uno de nosotros está pasando por circunstancias diferentes, pero si cada uno de nosotros ayuda un poco grandes cosas se pueden lograr!
