Midland Relief

Donation protected
On May 20, 2020 two dams broke causing the evacuation of over 10,000 residents in Midland. When I saw this on the news, my friend Maggie and I decided we had to do something for the town that was only an hour and a half away.  Two days later, May 22nd, we drove to Midland with a 9’ U-Haul cargo van that we filled with food, water and other supplies that had been donated by neighbors and friends. After seeing the damage first hand, we made the promise to come back soon.

Reaching out to the organizations we worked with, we found the supplies most needed were cleaning supplies, non-perishable food and animal supplies. The economic damage goes beyond today or tomorrow, so we want to give the community a “hand-up” as they continue to assess the damage and prepare for the long road ahead.

Just Girls Boutique generously loaned a vehicle to drive supplies back up to Midland but we need your help to fill it! We will be driving up June 5th, 2020!

We are asking for donations to be used to purchase cleaning supplies and non-perishable foods for the Midland County Emergency Food Pantry which supports 8 local shelter, a mobile food pantry and other community resources.

The Humane Society of Midland County is housing animals for families as “flood holds” until they can return to their homes together, but they need the supplies to do so. I’m an animal lover, so when I heard what they were doing for the community I wanted to help.

Our last drive was so successful due to the generosity and response to the call for action from our friends, families and neighbors. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts for every prayer, donation, and ounce of support.
