Mickii's Cookies Need Your Help

Hello everybody!  My name is Michelle and I am the Owner and Baker of Mickii’s Gourmet Cookies, Cobblers and more – a web-based family bakery - www.mickiisdesserts.com - business located on the north side of Chicago, Illinois in the Rogers Park neighborhood.

For most of my life (at least the last 30+ years), I've been in some form of customer service – resolving client and customer issues and helping other people realize their dreams. Now I am working toward living a dream of owning and operating a small neighborhood bakery/café business.

We thank those that have contributed so far as well as the many of you have already helped us – extended family members with printing of the brochures and working alongside at flea markets, friends and other small business entrepreneurs promoting the business by “liking” and sharing our Facebook pages, designing of the website and brochures; and most of all – our wonderful customers - new and existing – who purchased and continue to purchase our baked goods and post feedback on Mickii’s Facebook page. 

We would like to stay in business,  but we REALLY need your assistance.  We are asking for $4000. We need additional start-up capital to purchase some much needed items to be able to take our baking to larger certified shared kitchens (shared kitchens are State Certified and Approved Commercial Grade Kitchens that are shared by food producers in lieu of having their own certified kitchens or restaurants) – which, in turn, will allow us to sell Mickii’s baked goods in neighborhood restaurants as well as to be able to work the larger Flea Markets and Farmers Markets in the city and neighboring states. Our future goal would be that we outgrow the website-based business and move to a more central brick-and-mortar location. We know the work involved in starting a business (a restaurant, at that) as well as the failure rate. We are already hard at work building a great customer base and getting the face of Mickii’s out there.  We are just as excited to move onward and upward. We gotta start somewhere, right?

Renewing Certificate of Insurance Policy - $1000

Shared Kitchen User License –(2 year license) - $330

One 10x10 Basic Ez Pop Up Tent Instant Vendor Canopy - $450

One 4' multipurpose utility center-fold folding table w/ carrying handle and chairs - $270

Two Mickii’s Cookies Banners - $100

Extended Inventory (baking supplies/product, packaging and cookware) - $1450

Printer Ink and Labels - $400

 We are only launching this for 12 weeks. We know this is a short amount of time but we would like to keep moving forward on this project and bookings for the Spring and Summer Farmers Markets happens early in the year. We hope to hit the first of many Farmers Markets mid-March or Early April.

We  would be much appreciated if you could help us with a small donation to help spread the word about the delicious baked goods that Mickii’s Gourmet Cookies and Cobblers will provide.
