Mickey's Brain Surgery

Donation protected
You never think it will happen to you. 31 year old pilot Jose (Mickey) Gonzalez started experiencing headaches in November of 2017. As the headaches worsened, he started having blurry vision and was seeing double. He went from doctor to doctor before finding himself at the opthomologist who ordered an MRI. On Valentine's Day 2018, Mickey was rushed to the emergency room after the MRI revealed a golf-ball sized tumor and secondary systic area measuring 2 x 4 inches in his brain. One week later, Mickey underwent a 7.5 hour brain surgery to remove the tumor and corresponding systic mass.

As of March 11, he is still at Providence Portland Hospital overcoming surgery complications - and has spent over 12 days in the ICU. Mickey's pathology report came back with good news: the tumor was cancerous but a slow-growing form. With luck, his remaining treatment will only require follow-up monitoring to be sure the tumor does not return.

We've had a few requests to create a 'go fund me' page to assist with medical expenses. Donations are welcome. More importantly, prayers are too.

The day before the surgery, Wednesday, February 21, Mickey married his fiance, Kali Jeter, alongside their friends and family who flew in at the last minute to support Mickey.
