Mick & Coral's Battle With Terminal Cancer

Donation protected
Hi Everyone I have created this go fund me page to help a couple of family friends.

Mick was recently diagnosed with terminal cancer and is now requires certain equipment to make him a lot more comfortable to take some of the stress off of his partner Coral as they don't have any family what so ever to help them when needed.

Some of the equipment they require is a hospital grade bed, wheelchair, walking frame, shower chair etc..

This has had a huge toll on not only Mick but his partner Coral as she has had to be at his side every step of the way to support him and help him with daily things like showering and going to the toilet and so fourth so it would be amazing if anyone could help them even if its just $1 or even to just share this with their friends and family.

This is Mick's Story...

My name is Michael(Mick) Hewitt I'm 55 yrs old, with Bipolar and Stage 2 Emphysema. In February I had a CT scan and bowel test done. CT scan came back fine but the bowel test came back positive. The results were sent away for further investigation. I then had to have a colonoscopy, and a biopsy. I got the results and they had removed a 20cm polyp which was positive for bowel cancer. On the 24th of June I had to have an endoscopy and on the 29th of June I had a Bronchoscopy done. To find out if my lungs were ok for a bowel operation. On the 1st of July I found out from the Bronchoscopy I had lung cancer. I still had to  prep for 2 days to have a bowel operation. I got there for the op and they had cancelled it because they didn't tell my bowel doctor that I now have lung cancer. On 9th of July I had a pet scan to confirm I had lung cancer which it was. On 14th of July I was suppose to go to Royal Adelaide Hospital to see a surgeon to explain taking top lobe of lung out but they rang up and cancelled because the lung cancer is to close to my windpipe. They then decided to do chemo and radiation. So from August 7th to 18th it was appointments with chemotherapy doctor and radiation doctor. Then from 24th of August to the 2nd of October I had chemo and radiation treatments for 6 weeks. The last day of treatment I ended up in hospital for 5 days because I had a temp of 38.3 plus my hemoglobin was low. So on 8th & 10th of October I had more blood tests and on 12th of October I had another blood transfusion. They then done a few more blood tests and doctor appointments. Then on 23rd of November I had another pet scan to see if treatment had worked. An hour after the pet scan I got a call from oncologist to say I now have liver and bone cancer. So I then had to have a pelvis x-ray on the 3rd of December. They then done a liver biopsy and saw my orthopedic doctor on the 11th of December. The doctor then admitted me to hospital because I could of broken bones if I continued to walk. I had rods put in both right and left femur to help strengthen bones. I then returned home on 26th of December and have been told I start radiation treatment for my bones on 29th of December. Then I start chemotherapy treatment around the 8th of January and will finish this lot of treatment around June 2021. The doctors have informed us that without treatment I have 1-2 months left and with treatment I could possibly have 1-2 years.

Thank you to anyone that reads my story.
