Michelle Marie Foundation

Michelle Marie Gonzalez was one of the most amazing and brave women that you would ever have the pleasure to know. On July 18th, 2014 our beautiful Michelle lost her nearly six year battle with a rare aggressive form of childhood cancer called Rhabdomyosarcoma.  During her course of illness, Michelle endured multiple rounds of chemotherapy, surgeries, radiation, and the use of experimental drugs to help heal her. Michelle never lost her will to live, even during some of her toughest treatments she always believed she would get better because of the love and support of our friends and family. Our family experienced first hand the financial, emotional, and physical burden of having a child so sick. No family should have to experience such sadness. Together, as a family, our goal is to start The Michelle Marie Foundation. We hope to help families in similar situations, and hopefully bring even a small amount of happiness during difficult times. We decided to start this foundation to honor our beautiful daughter Michelle. Even though Michelle was so sick she accomplished every goal she put her mind to, she graduated high school, made National Honor Society, graduated from Eastern Suffolk Boces Photography program, learned to drive, and did everything that her peers were able to do. We honor her strength and accomplishments and will forever miss her, she will always be loved.
