Caring for Michelle Mack

Donation protected
We all know Michelle Mack, and if you don’t then you are really missing out on a blessing. Every one Michelle has touched has been blessed by her in one way or another.  Here is an opportunity for us to all help be a blessing back to her in a small, but impactful way.

Michelle and Jeremy have been struggling with health issues in their family for the past few years now. It seems like every time they get over one hurdle, they end up running into another one.  Starting with their youngest having problems from birth with her hearing and finding out that she was slowly going deaf.  They worked hard and had faith and were able to make the sacrifices necessary to get, sweet Ruthie, cochlear implants.

From there they have had a number of other issues from hospitalizations of their oldest son who nearly died from pneumonia, Jeremy’s continued struggles with the broken neck he suffered years ago and the medication causing some pretty severe side effects. And most recently dealing with extreme food allergies with their oldest daughter, and their ongoing battle to identify all the foods (the count is up to three pages now) that cause mild to life threatening reactions.

In all this Michelle and Jeremy have continued to serve faithfully in our local church and in the community. There is rarely a time they have not opened their home to members of our body for dinner, or had a group of youth kids over to play games. And when they are not caring for our church they are opening their home to their neighbors.

Michelle has taken on the added responsibility of acting as the church administrative assistant along with the other responsibilities of being a pastor’s wife, taking care of her home and homeschooling four of her children.

In all of Michelle’s willingness to serve and care for others there is one person she is willing to overlook and often chose to ignore… That is herself.  For the past 6 months Michelle has had a growing problem with some of her teeth. They didn’t have the money to spend on the procedure she needed, and to her it wasn’t as important as her children who needed care, so she put herself off.

Recently her pain has become unbearable and a serious infection has taken hold. If she does not have the procedure soon she could face severe and possibly life threatening results. The insurance that Michelle has does not cover the procedure completely and she will be forced to pay out of pocket more than $6000. This is an impossible undertaking for Michelle and Jeremy and it only exacerbates the fact that they are still trying to pay for all the allergy tests they recently had done for their oldest daughter, but God is in the business of doing the impossible.  He has shown himself faithful to care for their needs before, and we believe He will take care of this too.

We are calling out to all those people who have been blessed by the Mack family. All the people whose kids they have cared for. All the people who they have spent hours praying for. All the people who they have shown the love of God to in ministry and in life.  We are calling to you to step up and take care of the people who care for you. Give what you can or what you care to give and pray for our dear friend Michelle and the pain that she is in.

Acts 2:44-47
And all who believed were together and had all things in common. And they were selling their possessions and belongings and distributing the proceeds to all, as any had need. And day by day, attending the temple together and breaking bread in their homes, they received their food with glad and generous hearts, praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to their number day by day those who were being saved.
