Michelle Honeycutt's Medical Fund

Donation protected
On April 17, Michelle Honeycutt was diagnosed with Stage 2 HER2 Breast Cancer. This type of cancer is more aggressive than other types. Michelle had a regular mammogram in September and nothing was out of the ordinary. Then upon doing a self-exam in early April, she discovered an unusual lump and began the doctor visits that resulted in the diagnoses of breast cancer. Even though this form of cancer is more aggressive than other types, there are treatments that can help. Michelle first had surgery to remove the lump on May 13. She started radiation on May 27 and will begin her 18 weeks of chemotherapy on June 17. I never realized that cancer was a FULL-TIME JOB! It is not just about going to a radiation or chemotherapy treatment. There are bone scans, MRI’s, blood tests and Dr. visits that take place ALL the time. For those that know Michelle, you know that she is self-employed. The medical bills are enormous when it comes to cancer. Several of the drugs used for her chemo are not approved by the insurance and will have to go through a lengthy appeal process in order to be approved. Even after insurance pays their part, the out of pocket costs are astronomical.
Our goal is to have this fund help offset some of the financial burden placed on Michelle and her husband Roger so that they can focus on recovery and beating this cancer.  This is our chance, as friends and family, to show Michelle and Roger our love, support, and share hope with them.
