Michelle Kleppe's Transplant Surgery and Recovery

This is Michelle Kleppe Scott. You know her as a friend, a teammate, a co-worker, and as family. She needs our help.

Michelle has battled diabetes Type 1 for 23 years and has developed many complications resulting from diabetes such as neuropathy of the feet, coronary artery disease, hypertension and gastroparesis. She has been doing peritoneal dialysis every night at home,  while she sleeps (10 hours) since June 2018.  Doctors have urgently recommend a kidney and pancreas transplant to rid of the developed issues ASAP. She is currently at the top of the list for transplant recipients in Utah for a kidney and pancreas. She has already received two calls for organ transplant only to learn the organs weren't viable for transplant. The call for this life changing procedure could come at any time. 

Michelle resides in Bryce Canyon National Park in Utah, where she has been the Human Resources Coordinator for the past 4 years. We are in desperate need to raise money for post operative expenses that she will incur from not working post-transplant.  Michelle will have to be within an hour stay from Intermountain Medical Center for six weeks. This means a long extended hotel stay within 1 hour of driving distance to the hospital in Salt Lake City that is not covered by insurance.  A caregiver is required to be with Michelle 24/7 for the first 4 weeks.

The new pancreas will eliminate her type 1 diabetes completely although she will be on anti-rejection meds the rest of her life, she is excited to have a full life again.
