Micheal has always been enthusiastic about his education and was looking forward to continuing his education at Nicholls State University. They offer a program called, Bridge to Independence. The program assists students with intellectual challenges prepare for independent living. We were initially encouraged to apply for student loans and the loans were approved. Today, we were told that federal loans do not cover the program. We were also told, Micheal would not receive assistance from the state this year. We are 8 days away from Micheal’s move in date.

The goal of $20,000 will cover his tuition, housing, fee, and most expenses for a year. Bridge to Independence participants must not only pay tuition and fees of the university, but they must also pay for the program. It is a great program and I highly recommend. Whatever you can give is greatly appreciated. We pray that it is returned one hundredfold!!
