Motorcycle rider fatally struck by two cars on I-5; one person arrested for DUI
SACRAMENTO, CA, (March 06, 2021) - A 67-year-old Elverta man sadly lost his life after being hit by two vehicles on Interstate-5 Saturday night, California Highway Patrol officials said. The Sacramento coroner's office has identified the victim as Michael Julius Kimbrell.
Motorcyclist was killed after being rear-ended by an alleged drunken driver on Interstate-5 Saturday night.
The collision occurred around 9:36 p.m. on northbound I-5 at the connector to eastbound Highway 50.
Investigators determined the motorcyclist was switching lanes when he was rear-ended by a BMW driver. The impact caused the victim to fall off the bike and into the traffic. A Honda driver then struck him for a second time.
Sadly, Kimbrell was pronounced dead at the scene.
The BMW driver – identified only as a 43-year-old person – was arrested for DUI and taken to Sacramento County Main Jail. The driver confessed that he had been texting at the time of the crash, CHP investigators said.

Michael was tragically taken from us this past weekend when a drunk driver who was texting and driving and also a second car, hit him while he was on the freeway.
Our family is devastated he was an anchor to the Misfit Family & they will never be the same without him.
