Michaels Cancer Battle

Michael was diagnosed with bowel cancer for the first time on the 25th May 1999 at the age of 35. He survived that but not without constant battles along the way and bowel problems.
Unfortunatetly the cancer came
back again 16 years later again on the 25 May 2015 had surgery to the remove the tumour with a illeostomy bag for one year then had surgery 12 months later to reconnect the bowel.
One year later it appeared again for the 3rd time .. in July 2017 has had multiple surgeries with infections and now has a permanent illeostomy bag.
Had intensive chemo therapy and radiation for 5 weeks every week day to reduce the tumour.
After 3 months he has had another MRI and Pet Scan and the results are it’s touching the coccyx bone and travelled up the sacrem.. this is a very rare case and only 2 or 3 patients a year have this diagnosis.
As it is there is only one hospital in Australia that can do this major surgery at The Prince Royal Alfred in Sydney.
Michael will have to travel to Sydney to see surgeons on 19 March for further consultation and has been booked in for a 20 hour major surgery.
He will have to stay in Sydney hospital recovering for 6-8 weeks.
His wife Kim will have to take an extended period of time off work to be in Sydney and support Michael .
As Michael has not worked for 2 years and Kim being the sole provider we are asking for any donation to help raise funds for flights and accommodation costs during this difficult period. No donation is too small.
