Hey everyone!
My name is Michael VanDerLaan and I am an aspiring professional golfer. Ever since I can remember, it's been my dream to have a career on the PGA Tour. For years, I have been working to make that dream a reality. And I cannot express how much your support means.
I have always felt that I am destined to be a professional golfer. When I was 3 years old, my grandfather took a photo of my brother and I at the local driving range. He framed it and gave it to my mom with the caption "Future professional golfers." 20 years later, my brother is on tour and I am so close to making Papa's caption a reality.
I turned pro during the summer of 2019 after winning the NCAA Division 2 National Championship. Since then, I have been constantly competing at a high level. During the COVID-19 pandemic, I accepted a position as an assistant golf professional at Sunnybrook Golf Club in order to open more opportunities to compete in one of the strongest sections in America. During that time I have maintained a scoring average of 69.7 in the Philadelphia section, finishing in the top 10 in 4 out of 5 tournaments I played.
No one achieves their dreams alone, and I would love to be able to call you part of my team! With your help, I will be able to afford the entry fees and travel expenses that come with starting my career. Your financial support will also help take the pressure off my personal finances, allowing me to focus on playing my best.
Right now, I am closer than ever to realizing the dream I have imagined almost my entire life. I can already say your support means the world to me and there won't be a single day where I take that for granted.
