Miracle for Michael

Asking for help has never been easy. However, my brother, Michael Odegaard was recently diagnosed with multiple myeloma. Michael was having significant pain in his left hip back in May 2020. A biposy was performed in Rochester which resulted in devastating news for Michael and his family......CANCER! Michael is currently under the care of physicians at the Mayo Clinic.  This disease is very uncommon for someone of his age. Unfortunately, this diagnosis of multiple myeloma, which is an incurable blood disorder,  has caused him significant challenges in terms of pain and discomfort in his bones from the bone lesions. Genetic testing completed this week shows this cancer is more aggressive than expected. He is undergoing chemotherapy and radiation treatment and will soon need to have a bone marrow transplant and more chemotherapy in a prolonged indefinite manner. He has applied for disability for this life threatening disease but that will take time to be approved. Michael has not been employed since COVID-19 and will most likely not be able to work under these conditions. They have been solely relying on his wife's income to provide for their family. My mom, Diana Johnson has been his primary support regarding all of his medical appointments. With the added medical expenses, trips to Rochester, meals, household expenses, childcare and eventually a 5 to 7 week stay at a facility for Michael and our mom during his bone marrow transplant, I have decided to start this GoFundMe page. This is and will be a difficult journey for our family. Your prayers and any contributions would be greatly appreciated.  We are so grateful to have so many kind and concerned friends and wonderful supportive family.
