All I can remember from my childhood are numerous times that my Dad would work so hard and never complain. Come home extremely tired but still cook his children a hot meal and stoke the fireplace, wadding his daily newspaper into baseballs and a makeshift bat so that we could play “Fireplace Baseball” together. The weekends spent bowling, golfing or going to see a movie. He was always wearing secondhand shoes from Goodwill but buying our clothing from major department stores. Putting himself last as a single father, so that we could always come first.
I wish that I could write out all of the wonderful ways that my Dad always went out of his way for his children and for other people. Especially people who were lost, and unwanted who just needed a kind smile and conversation.
I am starting this GoFundMe page for my Dad because he has recently fallen on hard times. And, even though he told me that there are others out there who probably need help more than he does, I know that somewhere out there someone will be able to donate just a little to help. For the past couple years my Dad has battled diverticulitis which is a painful disease  and this along with other ailments has rendered him disabled. To compound his current diagnosis he’s also having severe tooth pain on a daily basis and has been informed that he will need to get dentures soon to make the pain go away. As you know, its very difficult for anyone on disability to pay the high rates for health insurance let alone dental coverage. His out of pocket expense is too much at this time but the daily pain remains. If you can find it in your heart to donate anything, I would greatly appreciate it.
