Michael A's Car Fund

Last night while I was spinning at Churchill's, a pickup truck blew through the red light at Kearsley and Saginaw, spun out in the heavy rain, and smashed right into my car, which was parked in front of the bar.  The truck then drove off.  Police came, and took a report, but told me that there was likely nothing that could be done.

My insurance had lapsed, and I am currently barely supporting myself on ebay sales and DJing, so this kind of thing is disastrous for me.  The car is beyond economical repair (drivers side caved in, severe bending to the frame, rear wheel assembly badly damaged...that truck hit my poor car HARD) and I will need a new (used) vehicle.  I need a reliable car, nothing pretty or fancy.
