Mibu Ministry in Motion

Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic this year, the Husa Core Team is looking to alternate methods in raising our annual support for the Husa Family and the Mibu Ministry.

The Husa Core Team was formed to support the mission work of Geoff and Shannon Husa in bringing and teaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the remote Mibu tribe high in the mountains of Papua New Guinea.  The Core Team will usually conduct two major annual fundraisers in support of the Mibu Ministry.

Every year at this time, we are working hard to collect donations for a 2-day Garage Sale Fundraiser.  And each Spring we hold a Benefit Concert Fundraiser.  With public gathering restrictions in place, we have been unable to hold our regular annual fundraisers in 2020.  We are asking for your donations through this GoFundMe campaign as a means of continued support for the Mibu Ministry this year.

Will you prayerfully consider donating to this GoFundMe campaign in support of the Mibu Ministry and the work God is doing directly through Geoff and Shannon Husa?  To share a little more about their story, here is a word from Geoff:

"Over 18 years ago Shannon and I sold our small home in Chandler, Arizona, along with most of our belongings as we followed the Lord’s lead to move overseas to be a part of bringing the gospel to a people who have never heard.  His leading brought us through training with New Tribes Mission (now Ethnos360), and onward to a long-term church planting ministry among the small remote Mibu people deep in the jungles of Papua New Guinea.  We’ve lived and ministered there for over 16 years now, even growing from a family of two to a family of six.  We’ve worked hard doing Bible translation, literacy development, and teaching and discipleship as well as local leadership development.  God has done such awesome things among the Mibu, where there is now a healthy, growing church with local elders in place!  We like to come back home every four to five years to connect with friends, family and churches.  One such planned return is coming up this next June (2021).  We’re getting super excited about that, by the way!  Our plane tickets, and a reliable vehicle are a couple of needs we’re asking for help with.  Also, it’s become increasingly difficult to secure affordable housing during our times home and so this go around, we’re actually looking to buy a house to call our own!  Any funds over and beyond travel and vehicle expenses will help toward that end.  We’re so grateful and humbled that our wonderful core team is organizing this fundraiser in lieu of the annual garage sale, and the annual bluegrass concert fundraisers.  And we’re so thankful for all of you who would even consider being a blessing through this fundraiser!”

Please join us as we raise support for the Mibu Ministry in 2020.  These are uncertain times but we are certain God has much more planned for the Mibu people and we see the Mibu Ministry in Motion for years to come, Praise God!

We appreciate your support - thank you for your prayers, for helping us to share this fundraiser opportunity with your friends and family, and for your generosity through any financial gifts you are able to donate through this GoFundMe campaign.  Thank you!  Stay tuned to what God is doing through the continued work of the Mibu Ministry:
