Mia Vey Education Fund

Dearest Family and Friends,

Thank you for your overwhelming care and compassion to contribute to the De La Cruz family. We are thankful for every single person who has expressed interest in donating their support, both monetarily and emotionally. It means more than words could possibly explain. As a family, we have decided to put together this GoFundMe account to give our friends and family the opportunity to support Mia’s next steps in her acting career and educational growth.

I can't remember a time when Mia wasn't bitten by the acting bug.  As an infant she was drawn to music. I believe Walt Disney is responsible for her love of musicals. From the first school performance to the debut on the stage of a small local theater in Atlanta at the age of 5, Mia has joyfully called herself an actor.

When Mia first began discussing her college goals, in the early days of elementary school, she announced a plan to attend NYU. When I asked her why NYU, she proclaimed the schools excellent credentials and close proximity to Broadway. 

Dindo and Aerie of course preferred an institution of higher learning a bit closer to home in Southern California. A compromise was reached and college in California was agreed upon. Dindo added an additional layer of support to the debate by pointing out his intention of shadowing each class on Mia's curriculum, as her personal bodyguard, by seating himself in the back row of chairs in each class for the full 4 years at university. 

If the overprotective nature displayed by Dindo seems a tad extreme let me clarify how thrilled Dindo was by Mia's talent from the very first time he accompanied Mia on set. He heard myself, Mia and Aerie discussing the process of auditions and call backs and rehearsals, but standing behind the scenes watching his precious Mia transform into another character was enthralling and filled Dindo with pride. From that moment on he vowed to do everything within his power to enable his "Miakins" to have the proper training and education to fulfill her dreams.

Mia is currently in the 6th grade and at 11 going on 20, has 6 more years of acting class and precollege studies. My goal for Mia Vey's Go Fund Me account is to cover her educational expenses through high school graduation.  I know Dindo will appreciate any and all assistance for Mia's education and since he can no longer physically watch over his precious Mia he will watch over her from heaven above knowing that his friends and family will take his place in the back row of the classroom.

As Mia's Nana, I assure each and every person who has shown your love and support of her education, that in my heart I know Dindo is smiling down from heaven with gratitude for the generosity blessed upon the two people he loved unconditionally.

I will oversee these funds in providing the education Dindo wanted his Mia to have for her future dreams and goals.
