Last November, I decided to pursue my long-time dream of devoting time to music and missions overseas. After much consideration, I applied to the Music and Worship program at Youth With A Mission (YWAM) in Toowoomba, Australia. YWAM is an international Christian organization passionate about sharing the love and good news of God with all people, in all places. The program goes from July 2015-December 2015. Two weeks after applying, I received a letter from Australia saying I’d been accepted!!! I cannot adequately tell you how excited I felt!
In this program, I’ll go through Discipleship Training School (DTS) with a team of students. The DTS is an intensive Christian training course encompassing an 11 or 12 week lecture/teaching (phase 1) with about 11-12 weeks practical evangelism field assignment (phase 2). It’s designed to encourage students in personal character development, cultivating a living relationship with God and identifying their unique individual gifts and callings in God. The purpose of the entire DTS is to cultivate growth in one's relationship with God, to sharpen one's ability to relate to, learn from and work with people of different cultures, personalities and perspectives, and to further equip each one to serve and influence all areas of society.
I am excited to be a part in sharing hope and making a difference during these 6 months! In order to be a part of this program, I need to raise $8,400 by June 27th, 2015. That sum is more than I can manage alone. So my request is this: would you prayerfully consider partnering with me financially as I take this next step of faith? I do believe the results will be eternal in the lives of those we contact and I am well aware that while some go, they only do so with the backing of those at home. It’s such a team effort.
