On Nov. 27th 2020 the world grew a little dimmer. Zac Melton unexpectedly passed away at the age of 34, only two days after the 1-year anniversary of losing his father Harold Melton. He leaves behind his sister Holly Melton; his brother Sam Melton; and his mother Patsy Melton.
Last Thanksgiving, the Melton family spent their holiday arranging a funeral while adjusting to the reality that a chair would forever remain empty at their family table. This Thanksgiving, amongst the peril of a pandemic and the heaviness of the reminder of losing their father/ husband just one year ago; they spent the day grateful for the time they had together, unaware of what was to come.
The pain of losing Zac is felt from a long list of loved ones who he has left behind, but none more so than his beloved mother, Patsy. The death of her husband brought on many financial burdens. Zac would help by fixing things around the house, mowing their 10-acre yard, and sending money whenever he could. Now that he is gone, the family is left with the all too familiar pain of grieving a loved one while anxiously trying to figure out how they will pay for the cost of funeral arrangements and further living expenses.
I ask of you today to donate whatever you can to help the Melton family. The pain of losing a child is immeasurable and should not be accompanied with the stresses of a financial burden.
