Emergency Eviction Funds
Hi! I'm Gray, and I moved to Columbus this February to live with one of the loves of my life. Though it was a joyous move, it was for a less-exciting reason; my dissociative identity disorder was making it unsafe for me to live alone as I was having blackouts and being put in risky situations.
I found a subleaser who seemed responsible, but he turned out to not pay rent, to have brought a gun into the apartment, and to make phone calls to the office threatening them with gun violence. Because of the nature of the lease, I'm still on the hook for his rent, as well as lease break fees. The amount right now may change depending on what the office decides we owe and how much my roommates are willing to chip in, but it will definitely be more than I can afford.
I'm on disability and currently only have $50 in savings, so I don't have the funds to be able to handle these charges. We can't afford to have this bill go to collections or my roommates and I will not be able to rent again.
