MHSA is a peer-to-peer support system that focuses on sponsorships from others dealing with the same issues for adults 18 and above. Support meetings will also be available to network with others and make those connections where people will be able to find, meet, and progress themselves with a sponsor through personal experiences such as what they deal with, how they deal, and how they overcome a life-long ailment. We at MHSA is in no way a substitute or alternative for medical assistance, but we are a place where people can always go to garner support from others, not just on an appointment basis.
We are raising money to cover start-up and incorporation fees as well as operating costs for our first year.
As a new service we will be starting our first meetings in May 2021. These meetings will serve as an introduction to the program itself letting people with mental health illnesses introduce themselves, tell their stories and interact with others sharing the same disorders.
Due to the COVID pandemic we will begin our meetings virtually and progress into in-person meetings in the future.
We plan on creating a text-based application for all mobile devices where people can always converse with each other and can ask for help through issues they are dealing with, and the ability to give that assistance to others.
