Mengi May’s workshop fire fund

Hi, my name is Oscar. Yesterday 2/12/23. My incredible partner Meghan cuming (mengi may) lost her beloved sewing workshop and our campervan in a freak fire. We don’t know what caused it but as it goes, we had sadly cancelled the insurance only 3 weeks ago, trying to save some money as we couldn’t afford to keep it on road during quite a difficult financial period. She has lost all the things that makes her sewing business in the fire, that includes machines, fabric, haberdashery tools her whole life’s worth of her priceless and irreplaceable patterns, a huge amount of our personal items and sentimental keepsakes. Along with all of this, Mengi had recently taken on nearly £4000 worth of orders which she had been working on for the last few weeks. These were all lost to the fire and now we also have to gather the funds to refund all of these customers.

We're both completely heartbroken and devastated by this loss and right now this crowd fund is our only hope to not only refund her outstanding orders, but to save her business and be able to replace everything lost to this tragic fire.

Anyone who knows Mengi, knows how hard she works. We have both been working 7 day weeks all year trying to pay back a mountain of debt and sadly we’re not even there yet. Let alone prepared for a disaster like this.

Words can’t describe how much this van meant to the two of us. This van was the labour of love and our first project together. Building the love of your life their dream workshop is a beautiful thing but it makes seeing it go up in flames even harder. This van has been our first home and has seen her business flourish over the years. This van was such a big building block in our lives, our relationship and our businesses and it held so many precious memories while teaching us so much.

All I can do right now is hope and pray that this will work enough to help her get back on her feet.

3: money to be able to give her time to live and pay bills while she remakes all of her patterns £???
